Thank You to Åre Cafe

I was so happy to have shared my photography at Åre Cafe– one of my favorite places to meet and eat in Tokyo. I am very blessed to live between Tokyo, Japan and San Diego, California with my husband. It works perfectly with what I love doing: design, photography, travel, reading and running. 

友達に会うときに、また食事でも大変よく利用させていただいている東京で最高にお気に入りのカフェÅre Café。　このカフェにおいて私が撮影した写真作品を展示する機会を戴きましたこと心より感謝申し上げます。夫と共にここ東京とサンディエゴを行き来しつつ、大好きなデザインや写真の仕事、旅、読書、そしてランニングを楽しめる幸運に恵まれたことに心から感謝しています。

Sand and Stone; Rolling Hills

The photographs featured inside Åre Cafe come from two photo series. The rock images are from Sand and Stone, which I photographed along the beaches of Northern California near the city of Carmel. The rocky coastline there is full of interesting shapes, colors and textures. These images are paired with the first images from my Rolling Hills collection. They also were shot in Northern California in an area where the grassy hills start right along the beach and stretch inland. I tried to capture the simple beauty and peacefulness of the green hills.

「砂と石」、「ローリングヒルズ」

今回は私の作品のなかから２つのシリーズをみなさんにご覧いただきます。

ひとつめは、カリフォルニア州北部（サンフランシスコより少し南）にあるカーメルという海沿いの町で撮影した「砂と石」というシリーズ作品です。珍しい形や色、そして独特の感触の石と岩によって形作られているカーメルの海岸のゴツゴツとした質感を写真から感じて戴けるのではないでしょうか。

もうひとつは、「ローリングヒルズ」というシリーズで、この作品の制作初期に撮影したものをご覧いただきます。このシリーズもカリフォルニア州北部で撮影したもので、海岸や島に沿って連なる草の生えた丘の独特の姿を捉えています。緑に覆われた丘のシンプルな美しさ、そして平穏さを感じて戴きたいと思います。
